More than 200 fourth and fifth graders from 23 elementary schools in Duval County will be participating in the Duval Elementary Music Showcase on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Wolfson High School.
These students were selected by their music teachers based on their singing ability, as well as their positive attitude and willingness to learn.
To prepare for the event, students were given nine very challenging pieces of music to learn. For weeks, they have been working with their teachers to memorize the songs and also listening to a practice CD.
The concert will be directed by Ms. Janey King, and is presented by Duval County's elementary music teachers.
