More than 300 students from Kirby-Smith Middle School were rewarded with a trip to Skate Station on October 10 to celebrate their reading success.
This summer, students were challenged to read four books for each grade level. Those who completed the summer reading, which equated to approximately one-third of the student population, participated in the skating event.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Kirby-Smith Middle School has offered this trip to students who meet summer reading goals.
“This event rewards our students for their dedication to reading, and provides them with an exciting jump-start on their annual reading goals,” said Principal June Marshall. “We are very proud of our students and their efforts to improve their reading levels.”
