Southside Middle School and Community First Credit Union (CFCU) formalized an educational partnership on September 9 during the school’s open house program, with the credit union pledging to support the school through financial literacy, mentoring and tutoring.
Keynote speakers included Shaquandra Woods, a business/community liaison from CFCU and LaTanya McNeal, principal of Southside Middle School.
Other attendees celebrating the partnership included Duval County School Board Member Kris Barnes; Lawrence Dennis and Jill Budd, Duval County Public Schools’ Chief Officer and Executive Director of Middle Schools for Cluster IV; and other representatives from CFCU.
Following open house, a reception for the educational business partners and guests was held in the media center.
