Southside Middle School Students' Essays Selected for Publication

Several eighth-grade students at Southside Middle School will have their essays published in the Celebrating What's Important To Me Anthology after being selected in the Creative Communication Essay Contest.

The essay contest, which thousands of students across the United States enter each year, required participants to write an essay of 250 words or less on a topic that they feel is important to them.

A number of the students in Teacher Janet Vaine's language arts class entered the essay contest, and the following students will have their essays published:

  • Fabian Bennett
  • Phyllis Gross
  • Danijel Hadziavdic
  • Anthony Hernandez
  • Ken Hines
  • Brandi Hunter
  • Courtney James
  • Ryan Juneau
  • Nevzad Kantarevic
  • Dianabel Morijon
  • Samantha Salcedo
  • Renika Sanders
  • David Tran

Creative Communication is devoted to the promotion of writing, teaching and appreciation of poetry and writing, and has sponsored writing contests for students across the United States and Canada since 1993.
