This summer, the Jacksonville Public Library will be hosting reading opportunities and special programs for kids and teens.
Kids, ages 6 to 12, can attend story times along with unique programs, including a curious moon puppet show, art reach paper making and didgeridoo down under Australian music.
As students complete their summer reading books, they will have a passport stamped to track their progress. After reading five books, kids can enter to win a bicycle courtesy of the Jacksonville Suns.
Teens can also enter to win prizes after completing their summer reading. Duval County residents, ages 12 to 18, who volunteer at any library and participate in an essay contest also have a chance to earn a $700 college scholarship donated by George Koury & Associates Insurance.
