Parents, teachers and community members who shop at Target are able to raise money for a school of their choice each time they shop.
Through the Take Charge of Education Program, Target donates up to 1 percent of every purchase shoppers make with their Redcard (Target Visa, Target Credit Card, or Target Check Card) to the school shoppers designate to receive contributions.
Schools are able to use the funds for whatever they need, including books, supplies, computers or field trips.
As a recent example, Whitehouse Elementary received nearly $100 from Target in September, bringing the school’s total donation since 1997 to $2,000.
“The Take Charge of Education Program is a great way for the local community to help out our schools, and we appreciate the support we have received from our parents, faculty members and community,” said Whitehouse Principal Marie Kite.
