The War on Poverty-Florida, Commit 2B Fit, Chartwells-Thompson School Dining Services, Duval County Public Schools and the Jaguars Foundation are working together to encourage Brentwood Elementary students to live healthy and productive lives.

"Commit 2B Fit," the new pilot nutrition education program officially introduced to the first and second-grade students during a special assembly, is designed to increase awareness and provide students with instruction on food selection and healthy eating habits.
Special guests for the event, including Jacksonville Jaguars player Rashad Jennings, Jaxson de Ville, members of The Roar and the Chartwells-Thompson mascot, encouraged students to be physically fit and live a healthy lifestyle.
The pilot nutrition education program at Brentwood is an extension of War on Poverty-Florida’s Build a Healthy Community Childhood Obesity Prevention Project (BHC), funded in part by grant from The Blue Foundation for a Healthy Florida, Embrace a Healthy Florida initiative. The BHC Project is an awareness campaign designed to promote active lifestyles and healthy eating habits for youth and their families. For more information, visit
