Spotlight On Education

Family Craft Night at Greenfield Elementary

Greenfield Elementary recently hosted Family Craft Night for parents and their kindergarten students. The task for the evening was to create a framed family portrait.

"Family Craft Night was a great opportunity for families to have a chance to sit with their children and create a fall-themed craft to take home and display as something that was done together," said Teresa Loock, an employee at Greenfield. "The evening also gave families the opportunity to meet each other, and we hope the event helps all of our Greenfield families become closer and be more involved with each other, as well as at school."

Several members of the PTA took a picture of each family in front of a hand-painted backdrop, and then printed them. The students and their family members were then provided with all the materials they needed to create a frame for their photo.

"The children and their parents had a lot of fun gluing and taping their picture frames together," said parent Lisa Martin. "It was really a special time, and wonderful to have this memento to take home and keep on the refrigerator. I am thankful for the kindness extended toward the students' families."

Greenfield also recently hosted Family Spirit Night at the Chick-fil-A at Tinseltown.
