Five students in Mrs. Genevieve Pringle's Creative Writing class at
Southside Middle recently submitted entries to the Florida Times-Union for a Brad Paisley 'Letter to Myself' writing contest. The students' entries were selected and appeared in the newspaper on October 16.
This year is Southside's first year offering a Creative Writing class. The purpose of the class is to promote critical thinking, offer challenges, and emphasize making one’s writing come alive.
Students enrolled in the course were identified last year as those with exceptional writing skills. These students have also been contacted by Florida Times-Union about an additional contest they entered, and their entries should appear in the paper soon.
