Students Learn about Bully-free Schools
Recently, a group of intermediate students at Enterprise Learning Academy were both entertained and educated while watching Jedlie, a former social worker, who uses magic, comedy, dance and original songs to teach students about creating a safe, supportive, bully-free school by making bully-free choices.

Jedlie teaches that a bully-free school is built by students who make the following four bully-free choices: choose not to bully each other; choose to stand up with their words and help anyone they see being bullied; choose to include everyone in fun; and choose to ask an adult for help if they are bullied or if they believe someone has brought something dangerous to school.

Students Practice Synergy
First-grade students in Ms. Ehlinger's and Ms. McHenry's classes recently practiced synergizing, one of the 7 Habits of Happy Kids, according to Sean Covey's book.

In Covey's book, there are seven oaks friends, including Pokey Porcupine and Jumper Rabbit, who through seven different stories teach children the key to happiness.

Working from the book, students identified with one of the character's attributes and colored one of Covey's coloring pages. The teachers then discussed synergizing with their students and each class worked together to create a puzzle from Covey's artwork.

Students then worked together (synergized) to put the opposite team's puzzle together using nonverbal communication.
