Spotlight On Education

Baldwin Indians' Poetry Published

Baldwin Senior High School students are going above and beyond with creative expressions!

For the first half of the grading period, Mrs. Sussman's class has been writing poetry, and students McKenzie M., Lauren C., Aaron H. and Maurquice M. were recently notified that their poems will be published in an upcoming anthology.

The subject of their poetry varied, ranging from hunting and cars to love and nature. They wrote about anything that explained them as individuals.

"I'm thrilled that these students got to go through this experience, and I can't wait for the book to come out in stores," said Mrs. Sussman.

Now every year students are going to be writing poetry in Mrs. Sussman's class, trying to reach the success of the published poets.

Written contributions from Baldwin journalism students Ashley Lane and Emily Hutchinson.
