Dudes (Dads) and Dudettes (Moms) recently had the opportunity to have breakfast with Principal Donna Frank at
Ramona Boulevard Elementary.
During the breakfast, Principal Frank and her staff talked with parents about the important role they play in their child's education. She also explained how her teachers are getting even the youngest students (kindergartners through second graders) prepare for upper level educational activities.
"As an educator and principal, it is my goal to get children to love school, stay in school and do well in school," said Principal Frank.
Principal Frank encouraged parents to help their child learn and prepare for important tests by doing simple things with them, such as cooking with them to help with their measurements, reading, talking about cause and effect, and encouraging them to talk about what they learned in school.
After breakfast, parents toured the school and looked at some of the work the first graders have completed. They also had the opportunity to visit a first-grade classroom as the students were practicing their math and multiplication.
The students got excited at the end of the tour when their parents surprised them by visiting their classrooms!
