On January 20, the entire student body of
First Coast High School was treated to a special surprise when American Idol alumni Jason Castro visited their school to kick off his 25-city tour.
During the students' lunch period, Jason held meet-and-greet sessions where students had the opportunity to take pictures with Jason and receive his autograph.
One of the awe-struck fans to receive Jason's autograph was eleventh-grade student Bria G. "I am very excited about having the chance to meet Jason," said Bria. "Nothing like this has ever happened to me!"
Jason performed the songs Love Uncompromised and Let's Fall in Love Again from his new self-titled album.
After each performance, Jason talked to the students about the importance of school, specifically the passing of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). He encouraged the students to study hard, make good grades and go to college.
While on his 2010 tour, Jason will be performing at one high school in every city, and First Coast was the lucky Jacksonville school.
