Dinosaurs, snakes, multi-colored solutions…Oh My! The Science Spectacular at
John Stockton Elementary had this and more as hands-on science experiments occurred all over the school.
Students learned first-hand that pressure builds and rockets launch, chemical reactions create all kinds of different stuff from bouncy blubber balls to super bubbles, and density does make a difference - - just to name a few of the school-wide experiments.
There were also demonstrations from the St. Johns Riverkeeper, Mosquito Control, Paleo Discoveries, 4H, the Forest Service, Mad Science and others.
Everybody young and old learned with a smile and there were lots of "oohs" and "ahhs."
Behind the Science Spectacular, an annual event at Stockton, was a pretty spectacular team who worked together to put on a great day of learning for the students. Parents, grandparents, community members and even students from
Lake Shore Middle School braved the inclement weather and volunteered.
The John Stockton family sends a big thank you to everyone who made this year's Science Spectacular truly spectacular.
