DCPS' Students Receive Scholarships During College Goal Sunday

Recently, 16 Duval County Public Schools’ students received scholarships to local colleges during the 2010 College Goal Sunday event.

More than $27,000 in scholarships was provided from Edward Waters College, Florida State College at Jacksonville, Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida.

During the event, students received free on-site professional assistance filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form, talked to financial aid professionals about financial aid resources and how to apply, and received information regarding state-wide student services, admission requirements, and much more.

College Goal Sunday is a state-wide volunteer program that provides free information and assistance to students and families who are applying for financial aid for post secondary education. College Goal Sunday brings together financial aid professionals from colleges and universities along with other volunteers to help college-bound students and their families complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
