Physicians' Advisory Council Assists DCPS

This year, the Duval County Public Schools' Risk Management/Employee Benefits Department has developed a Physicians' Advisory Council.

The council, which consists of community physicians who are actively practicing medicine in many specialties, provides advice and reviews the district's self-funded health program.

The goal of the council is to provide feedback and suggestions on the district's health program, as well as suggest ways to promote healthy lifestyles. Their comments and suggestions are shared with the district Insurance Committee.

The physicians volunteering on the committee are as follows: Dr. Yousif Abubakr, Hematology/Oncology Associates; Dr. Scott Baker, Chair, Cardiology, Baker Gilmour Cardiovascular Clinic; Dr. Ed Balbona, Internal Medicine, Art of Medicine; Dr. Richard Heekin, Orthopedics, Heekin Orthopedic; Dr. Victor Micolucci, Family Practice, Oceanway Medical Center; Dr. Nathan Perry, Family Practice, Perry General & Internal Medicine; Dr. Douglas Robins, Dermatology, Advanced Dermatology & Cosmetic ; Dr. Todd Sack, Gastroenterology, Borland-Groover Clinic; Dr. Neil Sager, OB/GYN, North Florida OB/GYN; Dr. Elias Saikali, Internal Medicine, North Florida Medical Associates; Dr. Davi Sutton, Endocrinology, NE Florida Endocrine & Diabetes; and Dr. Bruce Yergin, Pulmonary Diseases, Yergin Pulmonary Clinic.
