Students and their parents returned to
Don Brewer Elementary on a Thursday evening to sharpen their science skills during the second annual Science Night.
Each family received a Passport World of Science that got stamped when they visited one of the nine science stations. Stations included In The Bag, Who's The Conductor?, Invisible Ink and several other science-themed activities.
Art teacher Michael Viafora used crayons to demonstrate exciting physical/chemical changes to his audience members.
Also on display were the fifth-graders science fair projects in the media center. While visiting the media center to look at the projects, families were able to visit the Book Lady for science texts and purchase “Edible Aquifers” from the PTA.
After the completion of all stations, students turned in their passports to the “Embassy” and entered a science sweepstakes. Some of the prizes that were given away included iPod Shuffles, a
Mythbusters Power of Air Pressure and Wizards Only Magic Science Kit, and other take home science kits.
While everyone was not a sweepstakes winner, all students who participated in the stations received goodie bags with treats and a homework pass.
