The
LaVilla School of the Arts Vocal Music Department recently participated in the Northeast Florida Music Performance Assessment at St. Augustine High School, and for only the second time in the school’s history, every LaVilla chorus student received a Superior in sight reading and a Superior in choral performance.
Sight reading is especially difficult, as the students have to sing a piece of music they have never seen before for a judge without any help from the piano. And, this year’s judges were some of the best in the state, including the current Florida Vocal Association President.
LaVilla vocal teachers Mr. Pendry and Ms. Moreau are very proud of the students’ hard work and great attitudes, as well as their wonderful behavior throughout the entire day-long competition.
