Lone Star Elementary Hosts Multicultural Fair and Parade of Continents

The students, faculty and staff of Lone Star Elementary recently participated in the school's annual Multicultural Fair and Parade of Continents.

For the multicultural fair, students decorated the hallways with posters, artwork and other region specific artifacts. After the halls were decorated, each classroom took a tour of the school to learn about the continents and their culture.

During the parade, which featured students from every grade level, the students dressed in the traditional clothing of the continent or nation they represented.

Monique Blue, radio personality for V101.5FM, served as the parade’s mistress of ceremonies.

After the parade, Lone Star Elementary Principal Elizabeth Kavanaugh thanked Ms. Blue and the school’s parents, staff and faculty members for their participation in the festivities. She also thanked the students for the hard work they put in to ensure the parade and fair were a success.

In addition to the student activities, the faculty and staff members gathered in the media center for a delicious lunch featuring foods from every continent.
