Former U.S. Senator Bob Graham visited
Wolfson High School to speak to students about the important role they play in improving the quality of education students receive in Florida and throughout the nation.
Graham recently published a book, America, The Owner's Manual: Making Government work for you, which is a citizens' guide to making government work for them by understanding how it operates. Graham, accompanied by Superintendent Pratt-Dannals, School Board Member Hazouri and others, asked students for their opinions about what needed to be done to make the school district better, and encouraged them to get involved.
"You can make a difference," he said. "Get involved, make sure you understand the political system and how it works, and you can improve the quality of education in Duval County and beyond."
Also attending the event and speaking to the crowd were high school students from several Duval County public schools who are part of the Save Duval Schools effort to inform the community about budget issues facing public education in the district and state.
