The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) recently named four
Kings Trail Elementary students as the winners of its Fourth Annual National Transportation Week Fifth-Grade Poster Contest.
“This is the first year we had a sweep at one school,” said JTA’s Endya Freeman. “Their submissions were outstanding and in accordance with the contest rules.”
All Duval County fifth-grade students, in both private and public schools, were invited to participate in the contest, themed "Transportation: Moving the Region."
Congratulations to Adelisa N., Caitlin W., Dekierian C. and Jasmine G. who were each awarded $50 gift cards during a special ceremony on May 18, where the winning posters were unveiled. Each of their classroom teachers also received $25 gift cards.
The contest was held in recognition of National Public Transportation Week, May 16-22. The mission of the contest was to help students recognize the value of transportation and their contributions to the future of transportation in our country.
