Twin Lakes Academy Elementary Receives Volunteers for Life Grant

Twin Lakes Academy Elementary has been awarded a special $2,500 grant from New York Life Insurance Company's program called "Volunteers for Life."

"Volunteers for Life" develops and promotes volunteer opportunities for New York Life Insurance Company's employees so that they may contribute their time and expertise to help meet community needs, and to recognize and encourage their ongoing involvement with nonprofit organizations.

One of their agents, Terry Sanders, a former Twin Lakes Academy Elementary parent, chose the school on which to bestow this grant. School administrators and staff plan to use the grant monies to improve school grounds by installing a kindergarten playground, and to enhance and beautify the campus.

On Saturday, May 22, volunteers from New York Life, the school's PTA, and faculty and staff members worked to prepare the area by planting shrubs, flowers and trees, repainting the U.S.A. map and improving many other features around the school.
