Kaye Byrnes stopped by
Ortega Elementary for a fun and entertaining early kick-off to Celebrate Literacy Week.
Kaye is a gifted storyteller who held the students captivated by her linguistic talent. She told stories from around the world to the kindergarten through second-grade students that included favorites such as
Rumpelstiltskin and Anansi the Spider.
The third through fifth-graders were enchanted with a program entitled “Genre Jive” that had them rushing to the school library in search of myths and legends.
According to media specialist Cyndi Polkey, “Kaye was a delightful storyteller who used nothing except her voice to weave a mind movie for us all!”
