The
Kirby-Smith Middle Challenger Learning Center staff and S.T.a.R. Interns have chosen a winner for their contest asking students to name the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) pink and black rocket, which is dedicated to breast cancer survivors.
The winning name is Estrella, Spanish for star, submitted by one of Mr. Rossi’s sixth-grade students, Norsean Pickney. Norsean named the TARC rocket Estrella because those who endure and survive breast cancer are truly stars.
Norsean received a small cash prize, a Challenger Learning Center t-shirt, a hat, and a NASA goodie bag.
