Nearly 400 students from Northeast Florida recently gathered at the Morocco Shrine Auditorium to for the Regional Science Fair.
According to
Atlantic Coast High biology teacher Gara Leen, it was the largest fair in the last 10 years and there was fierce competition among the students.
Atlantic Coast had five projects entered in the fair, all completed by ninth graders, and of the five projects won three awards.
“All the projects were done by freshmen and they were competing against many juniors and seniors,” said Leen. “This is a great honor, and Atlantic Coast will proudly have one student representing us at the state fair."
