Two students from the
Forrest High School band have been selected to participate in the University of Florida's 2011 Honor Band from March 31 to April 2. The students were not only selected based on their musical ability but on their academic performance and teacher recommendation. Congratulations to Timothy Pickering (euphonium) and Jill VanLear (clarinet).
Both students will travel to the University of Florida and participate in college workshops, master classes with renowned artists, rehearsals and a festival concert. The students will represent Forrest High School and collaborate with peers from high schools all over the state of Florida.
This is a great opportunity that the students will be able to learn from and expand their already impressive talents.
