Mandarin High Student Receives FSU Service Scholarship for Participation in Little Language Learners

Kurt Butler, a senior at Mandarin High School, has been named one of 12 scholars out of 600 applicants for the Florida State University (FSU) Service Scholar Award.

The four-year scholarship, valued at nearly $10,000, is awarded to select students with an outstanding record of community service and leadership who want to continue that commitment at FSU.

Kurt has been teaching Spanish for the past two years at Loretto Elementary as a volunteer in the “Little Language Learners” program sponsored by the Department of World Languages.

Congratulations, Kurt! We wish you much success as you continue your academic career at FSU!
