Students at Thomas Jefferson Show Off Their Recycling Skills

Students at Thomas Jefferson Elementary have been participating in the Dream Machine Recycle Rally for the past few months. This program is designed to promote recycling of plastic and cans.

Part of the program is a Green Leaders Contest. Each month two of the top schools are chosen to receive $5,000 for “Green” improvements. Thomas Jefferson was selected as one of the winners for the month of March.

Over the course of the contest they recycled more than 54,000 bottles and are currently ranked in the top 30 percent with more than 85 bottles per student. The students and staff at Thomas Jefferson are very excited to accept this award.

Keep up the good work in keeping the community clean!
