Students from
Frank H. Peterson participated in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) state leadership competition held in Orlando, Florida. The competition featured students from early childhood education programs from across the state.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12.
This was a great learning experience for the students to further develop leadership skills such as problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication.
“The goal of Peterson’s program is to encourage students to aim high to complete college entrance academic requirements while exposing students to college and careers in the teaching profession, primarily early childhood and pre-k,” said principal McCandless.
Several students will be advancing to the national conference that will be held in July in Anaheim, California. The names listed below with an asterisk preceding it are those students participating at the national level.
