Earlier this month, students from
Frank H. Peterson were the winners of 19 medals and more than $5,000 in awards and prizes at the 2011 Florida SkillsUSA Skills and Leadership Conference.
Five students received first-place medals and will move on to compete in the National SkillsUSA Competition in Kansas City, Missouri on June 19-24. Peterson students also received six silver and six bronze medals at the competition.
The SkillsUSA Championships is the showcase for the best career and technical students in the nation. This is a multi-million dollar event that occupies a space equivalent to 16 football fields.
