Sandalwood Students Excel in Essay Contest

Sandalwood High students Bryan Ortiz, Megan Wampler and Claire Cugini were recently selected to advance to the second round of judging in the national John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest.

Only 148 essays out of 2,002 essays submitted this year progressed to this round of the competition. The JFK Profile in Courage Essay Contest required students to engage in extensive research and draft a synthesis essay on a political leader who demonstrated courage through conscientious actions and choices.

Congratulations to these students for progressing to this round of the competition. You all should be very proud of this accomplishment. These three are all students in Linda Cugini's Advanced Placement literature class.
