Somerset Academy Student Comes to Aid of Toddler

Kylei W., a student at Somerset Academy Eagle Campus, recently became a local hero in the eyes of a toddler, the toddler’s family and among the students and staff at her school.

Kylei found a two-year-old boy walking alone on Lone Star Road and immediately sprung into action. Kylei got the child off the road, calmed him down and then called the first person she could think of to help – her own mother.

Kylei and her mom called 911, and got the little boy to safety with the help of law enforcement.

“We are so proud of Kylei. She may have saved this child’s life,” said Principal Dr. Reggie Revis. “We will continue to reinforce to our students personal responsibility, leadership development, community involvement and academic excellence.”
