Over the summer, students from
Andrew Jackson,
Ribault,
Raines and
Lee High Schools participated in the Girls’ Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Championship. The competition took place in Orlando resulting in their basketball team, the Duval Lady Jaguars, taking home first place for the 19th Union. This is the first girls’ basketball team from Jacksonville to win a National Championship.
The Amateur Athletic Union is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer sports organizations in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs. Congratulations, Duval Lady Jaguars, on the national championship win, and good luck in your future competitions.
