The students at
Mamie Agnes Jones Elementary recently enjoyed a presentation of The NED Show. The students gathered in the cafeteria for an assembly that provided a motivating message for both teachers and students.
The basis for the 45-minute assembly is an easy-to-remember credo to Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best or NED, created by Arne Dixon, founder of All for Kidz, Inc. Dixon and his team turned the acronym into a character and developed a story that teaches those three traits while captivating the students with some amazing yo-yo tricks.
The students clapped and cheered as they listened to the story of NED’s day, beginning with walking his dog, running from aliens, riding roller coasters and ending with flying back from Paris just in time to make it to their school. The assembly concluded with student participation as kids were called upon to share what they learned during the presentation.
Having been in business since 1984, Dixon has personally experienced the lifelong effect the assembly has on students. “It is gratifying when I meet someone now who is in their 20’s or 30’s that remembers our visit to their elementary school,” said Dixon.
