Chets Creek Students have 'Farm'tastic Fieldtrip

First-grade students from Chets Creek Elementary recently visited Sykes and Cooper Farm in Elkton, Florida to experience some "farmtastic agritainment!"

Students explored the pumpkin patch, went on a hayride around the cornfield, got to visit a pig, donkey, goats and chickens, wandered in a six-foot-tall corn maze, jumped on a corn popper trampoline and even played on a bed of corn kernels.

The students also had a learning curriculum that provided them with information about all the different items that are made with corn.

A great time was had by all on the toasty fall day, and staff members say this will definitely be a new annual tradition!

Family owned and operated for over 50 years, Sykes and Cooper Farm offers field trips for school groups throughout the month of October. For more information, visit www.sycosod.com.
