Kernan Trail Elementary kicked off a month-long focus of students making positive choices with a Team Impact assembly. The speaker from Team Impact focused on helping students make the right choices everyday while demonstrating great strength, lifting students and staff members in the air, ripping large phone books and bending iron rods with his bare hands. The children were thrilled by the entertainment, but more importantly took back messages of hope and positive choices.
Team Impact has been teaching and encouraging students for more than 10 years. The assembly programs use former professional, Olympic & collegiate athletes performing an entertaining mixture of feats of strength, comedy and music to communicate age-appropriate messages for hundreds of thousands of students each year.
Kernan Trail Elementary is continuing the theme of positive choices for the entire month of October. With the cleverly coined phrase of “Paw-si-tive” choices, students making “Paw-si-tive” choices during October will receive stickers for each good choice they make. At the end of the month, one student from each class will be chosen as the “Paw-si-tive Student of the Month” and will receive a “Paw-si-tive Choice” Bracelet thanks to the support from the PTA.
