At the Florida Foreign Language Association Conference recently held in Clearwater, the following Duval County Public Schools’ teachers and administrators were recognized with awards of excellence:
Sonia Bullock, Dr. Lauren Doyle McCombs, Elvia Franco, Hazel Ghiotto, Alice Hill, Myra Johnson, Gale Jones, Carmen Thies
and Jacki Cinotti were selected as the 2010 Most Valuable Teachers.
Sonia Bullock and Carmen Thies also won the Teacher of Promise Award.
Dr. Joanne Davis, DCPS’ Supervisor of World Languages, was recognized as Florida’s Outstanding World Language Supervisor for 2010. Dr. Davis also had the opportunity to present a workshop at this conference on “Innovative Methodology for the World Language Classroom.”
The Florida Foreign Language Association is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study and teaching of languages and cultures.
