Fort Caroline Elementary Hosts Extracurricular Clubs and Activities

There are a lot of new student clubs and special programs taking place this year at Fort Caroline Elementary.

Staff members at the school have started two new clubs, a newspaper crew and drama club. Students participating in the newspaper crew will produce a newsletter that goes home monthly. They will also produce a literary magazine every nine weeks showcasing their writing or creativity through short stories, poems and illustrations.

The drama club will be producing a talent show, a series of dances and skits, and an end-of-the-year performance.

Beginning the second nine weeks of school, there will be a book club for students in the third through fifth grade. Students will select a book and read it together, ask questions, share thoughts and explore the various topics addressed in the book.

Sponsors hope that students will learn about time management, team work and personal responsibility by participating in the clubs.

The school also recently hosted a Dads and Dudes breakfast, with more than 90 dads and male mentors joining their students for a special time together.
