Duval County Public Schools’ (DCPS) Supervisor of Guidance Services, Nan Worsowicz, was awarded the Administrator/Supervisor Advocacy Award by The Florida School Counselor Association (FSCA). The FSCA annual convention was held November 5 at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six.
Nan was joined by the elementary, middle and high school Counselor of the Year awardees. The award recipients and guests enjoyed a three course, sit down, filet mignon dinner at the award banquet.
Nan was nominated for this award by her fellow coworkers, Joni Shook and Wendy Dunlap. Nan’s commitment to improving the relationships between school counselors and principals, her dedication to preparing counselors to enter the workforce, and her role in developing the Individual Professional Development Plan, which represents the relationship between school counselors and student achievement, are some of the reasons she was selected as the award winner.
“Nan is a remarkable leader and radiates energy that charges school counselors to demonstrate high levels of performance,” says DCPS’ Deputy Superintendent Pat Willis. “She is characterized by her passion for the school counseling profession and her belief that all children can achieve with the support of a devoted school counselor.”
