Veterans Day at
Sabal Palm Elementary was indeed inspirational! Members of the Armed Forces were invited to come celebrate with the school in the courtyard for a Veterans Day Flag Raising Ceremony.
The program was introduced by Assistant Principal Christine Kumer, and the presentation of colors was provided by the Terry Parker High ROTC.
Performances from the Sandalwood High Chorus, the Sandalwood Instrumental Music Ensemble and the Sabal Palm Chorus led the student body in patriotic music.
Principal Linda Graham spoke to the students about patriotism and reminded them of the many reasons to be thankful to our Veterans, and remember those who serve and have served in our military over the years. She then introduced two fifth-graders to recite the Gettysburg Address. Mrs. Graham ended the program with a poem entitled
"Heroes Die for Me."
