Media Educators of Duval In Action Support Youth Crisis Center

Duval County's M.E.D.I.A. group (Media Educators of Duval In Action) got together on St. Lucia Day (Dec. 13) to collect items for the students at the Youth Crisis Center in Jacksonville. Items collected included toiletries, clothing, games, blankets, puzzle books and of course lots and lots of books!

A member of the M.E.D.I.A. group, Lucretia Miller of Chaffee Trail Elementary, was also recently published in a book from Syracuse University, From the Creative Minds of 21st Century Librarians. The book includes lesson plans utilizing American Association of School Librarian's new standards for the 21st century learner from school library media specialists all over the nation.

The book and its description can be found online at http://digital-literacy.syr.edu/projects/view/83.
