San Mateo Elementary has selected 18 Star Students from each grade level for the months of October, November and December 2011. Star Students are chosen by the teachers for their academics and positive character choices. The chosen students are awarded with their photos on the “Star Bulletin Board” and receive a free lunch with a school administrator.
During lunch, students sit with the administrator on the cafeteria’s stage as they listen to the cheers and congratulatory speeches from classmates and staff.

- Second-grade – Hunter P., Travis R. and Sophia P.
