Fifth-grade students at
Venetia Elementary recently completed the Youth Leadership Values Training program sponsored by the Army National Guard.
The program instructor, Sergeant Jamaal Burris, lead the students through group activities that taught them about loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. Students played physically and mentally challenging games like Army dodge ball, capture the flag and spell bomb. These games stressed the leadership values the students were learning.
As a culminating activity, students were challenged to set goals and overcome fears by climbing a 15-feet-high rock wall. Congratulations to the Venetia fifth-graders who completed the program!
