Raines High Students Promote Literacy Week at Northwestern Middle

Several students representing Raines High School’s clubs & organizations visited students at Northwestern Middle School to support Celebrate Literacy Week 2012. These students were part of the Rainesmen Brotherhood, the Ladies of Raines, the Zeta Chi Elite and the Sisters of Scholars.

The students took their favorite books over to the middle school for an awesome teaching and learning experience. Eighteen classes at Northwestern Middle were graced with the presence of a Raines Viking. The students read short passages from their favorite book and facilitated a mini discussion afterward. The Northwestern students were able to ask questions and engage in intelligent conversations with the high school students.

This experience was a great way for all of the students to interact with and relate to one another based on the love of reading. Each student who participated in this activity gained knowledge and skills on working with their peers. The Raines students set a great example for the middle school students who look up to and respect them.
