Ribault Middle Alumnus Returns to Speak with Chinese Classes

Brandon Jackson, an alumnus of Ribault Middle, stopped by the school during his trip home to Jacksonville. As a Diplomat for the U.S. State Department, Brandon wanted to provide some words of encouragement to the students before leaving on a three-year job assignment in South Africa.

Brandon recently spent three years in China and knew his experiences would help Ribault Middle’s Chinese classes to understand the culture of the country. He spent a few hours with the students, sharing his education, experiences and the life changing moments that occurred during his trip to China.

Mrs. Lui, Ribault’s Chinese teacher, was thrilled to have Brandon spend this quality time with her students. Students left the class feeling encouraged to become immersed in the Chinese language and culture. Brandon promises to follow the students’ progress as they continue on into high school.
