Duval County Public Schools’ students recently participated in the annual Latin Forum held at Jacksonville University (J.U.). This was the first year that the contest was held at J.U. and university admissions representatives were present to welcome students.
Students participated in various components of the Forum including written examinations, projects, Olympic events, Certamen, costumes, the 100- and 200-meter run, a chariot race, relays, broad jump contest, and nerf and softball throws.
Students from the public schools scored first-place in the majority of events. Participating schools included:
Stanton College Preparatory,
Paxon School for Advanced Studies,
Douglas Anderson School of the Arts,
Atlantic Coast High School,
Wolfson High School,
Fletcher High School,
Ribault High School and
Darnell-Cookman Middle/High School.
