Cadets, students, parents, teachers, staff and district personnel gathered around the new Florida Fallen Heroes memorial at
Mandarin High School as they commemorated the former Mandarin students who gave their lives fighting for the United States. Many were present to watch as the fallen heroes' monument was set in place in the school's front courtyard.
Thanks to the Timothy J. Seamans Memorial Foundation for allowing this memorial to be possible at several Duval County high schools. The foundation's mission is to create, establish and help maintain the Fallen Soldier Monument at each hometown high school of Florida graduates who defended the U.S. in the war against terrorism.
