The Council of the Great City Schools has selected Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) as a top performing district in the management of its transportation operations. The recognition of the Transportation department is based on key performance measures and indicators that demonstrate efficient and effective use of resources in maintaining its school bus operations.
The department's data submission brought the district to the top of other large city school districts with the new bus fleet as one real asset for DCPS. The Council of the Great City Schools' quartile analysis measured the department overall in terms of daily performance, costs and bus fleet quality, which played a large role in this recognition.
