Students, teachers, staff, administration and community members gathered at
Mayport Coastal Sciences Middle School to honor Ms. Jerri Brown, a teacher that passed away the school year after her fight against cancer. Thanks to the school's PTA and Student Council, Mayport Middle was able to build a memorial in honor of Ms. Brown.
All the students and staff have not forgotten her hard work and wanted to put something in stone to mark her memory. The anchor quad on campus was renamed the J. Brown Anchor Quad, complete with a concrete bench and table with embellishments to signify her life. Ms. Brown's family was also present and participated in the dedication.
