The
Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary String Players played for the annual fifth-grade school promotion at the Landon Middle School auditorium. The 22 String Players performed a beautiful rendition of "Pomp and Circumstance," as the fifth-graders proceeded to fill the auditorium. Hogan-Spring Glen graduated 42 fifth-grade students for the 2011-12 school year.
After the fifth-grade Choir sang "God Bless the USA," the String Players performed "Ode to Joy" and "Cripple Creek." The Hogan String Players are made up of second- through fifth-graders who meet after school every Thursday and Friday from August to June to practice their musical talents. The promotion program was put together by the school music teacher, Mr. Patrick Vaughan, and the two fifth-grade teachers, Ms. Mayes and Mr. Braden. Best wishes to all of the graduates as they move up to middle school!
